From the moment I could hold a brush, I’ve been creating. As a little girl, I was the one styling my baby dolls’ hair, flipping through fashion magazines, and soaking in all things beauty, pop culture, and trends. Standing out wasn’t just a goal—it was who I was.
After high school, I began my college journey at Southern University, but deep down, I knew my path was different. I made the bold decision to leave traditional college life behind and pursue my true passion at The Aveda Institute of Baton Rouge. It was there that everything clicked.
After graduating, I stepped into the professional world at the largest Aveda salon and distributor in the Southeast. I trained rigorously and became a hair color specialist, while also sharpening my skills in editorial and personal hairstyling. My career took me to exciting places—working New York Fashion Week, contributing to magazine publications, styling celebrities, and leading hair color education classes.
But as much as I thrived in the spotlight, motherhood redefined my vision of success. As a mom of two beautiful children, I made the intentional decision to step away from the corporate salon world and build a business that gave me the creative freedom to prioritize both artistry and family.
That vision became India Banks Signature Hair Co. — a space where artistry meets intention, and where every woman is invited to discover her own elevated, effortless beauty.
